Inductance is not inherently a "directional" component. Its fundamental function is to store energy in a circuit and generate a self-induced electromotive force when the current changes. The inductance value (expressed in Henrys, H) is a scalar quantity that does not involve direction.

However, in certain situations, we may discuss the directionality of inductance components. For example, in AC circuits, the connection method of inductance components can affect their impedance characteristics towards AC signals. When designing magnetic components such as Transformers or inductors, the orientation of the magnetic core and the winding direction also influence their performance. In these cases, the term "directionality" refers more to the physical installation or electrical connection method rather than the inherent property of inductance.
